A judge on Monday denied a new trial for four men convicted last year of rape at Big Dan’s tavern in New Bedford, Mass.

Superior Court Justice William Young, who presided over the trial, ruled that actions by the prosecution in withholding certain evidence did not prejudice the outcome of the case.

David Waxler, one of the defense lawyers, said that he will appeal the ruling.
