Cagney OK After Surgery on Leg

Film star James Cagney is recovering at his upstate farm following an operation three weeks ago to remove an infected growth from his leg, according to a published report.
Surgery on the veteran tough guy was performed March 20 in an undisclosed upstate hospital, the Daily News reported. A sore which wouldn’t heal because of the 85-year-old actor’s diabetes became infected, making the operation necessary, Cagney’s manager, Marge Zimmerman, told the newspaper.
