Wally Boag, the comic who starred at Disneyland’s Golden Horseshoe for 27 years before his retirement in 1982, is the featured performer tonight in “It’s Showtime! ‘85,” a benefit for the Orange County Special Olympics sponsored by the North Orange County Board of Realtors. The second annual fund-raiser, at Plummer Auditorium, will begin at 8.

Boag will be sharing the stage with about 15 Special Olympics athletes, said Molly Green, spokeswoman for the board.

Madeline Evans, Special Olympics director, said the children “are the biggest hams you’d ever want to meet. They love to entertain, and they do a terrific job.”

Boag, 65, of Fullerton, said, “I just thought this would be a good thing to do. I have done shows for Disney, entertaining. This is just another goody.”

Since his retirement, Boag still performs on stage occasionally. He has worked as a producer in Las Vegas and is writing about the history of vaudeville. Boag started in show business at 14 in Portland, Ore.

The auditorium is at 201 E. Chapman Ave., Fullerton.
