Pornographic Material Confiscated in Britain

LONDON —
In simultaneous raids in London and seven other British cities, police seized millions of allegedly pornographic magazines and videotapes, most intended for export to the United States, Scotland Yard said.
The raids were carried out Thursday under Britain’s Obscene Publications Act at offices of Gold Star Publications, said a Scotland Yard spokesman who, in line with British practice spoke anonymously. There were no arrests.
