Southland Corp. might buy some Arco stations.

The Dallas-based operator of 7-Eleven stores said Atlantic Richfield’s gas stations in Philadelphia and Chicago might be ideal locations for convenience stores and gas pumps. But Southland said it’s too soon to say how many of the 2,000 Arco gas stations east of the Mississippi it may bid on. Southland doesn’t want Arco’s Philadelphia refinery, which Arco wants to sell with the gas stations as a package. Arco declined comment.
