Four people were reported injured as three bomb blasts rocked Noumea, the capital of New Caledonia, blowing a hole in the Court of Justice building, sinking a yacht in the marina and damaging the entrance to a Kanak school frequently used for political meetings. The explosions occurred hours after the French high commission eased a curfew imposed last week when one Kanak youth was killed and nearly 100 people injured in the worse violence on the island sincee the Kanaks started a campaign for independence last November. No group immediately claimed responsibility for the blasts.
