Bonn police arrested 29 people, including four West German Social Democrats who are members of the European Parliament, for demonstrating in front of the South African Embassy. Police said the demonstrators were taken into custody after they refused to disperse and were released after identification checks. The demonstrators tried unsuccessfully to deliver a petition to the South African ambassador expressing support for 16 key black leaders facing trial on treason charges in South Africa.
