The New Jersey Division on Civil Rights has ruled that the three eating clubs of Princeton University violate state laws by discriminating against women, and that the university aided and abetted the discrimination. The division reversed its 1982 ruling that dismissed a complaint on the grounds that the clubs were private and outside its jurisdiction. Undergraduate members of the exclusive clubs said they were following instructions not to discuss the case.
