About 30 Guardian Angel volunteer crime fighters crossed the Mexican border at Tijuana to deter crime but almost got arrested themselves. Mexican State Judicial Police officials said the crime-fighting group was not welcome in Mexico and warned that the Guardian Angels might be arrested if they defy authorities. As 19 of the volunteers patrolled a border neighborhood, a Mexican police commander ordered them to stop or face arrest. “They have no business coming here,” said police Commandant David Bolanos Camara.
