Authorities are investigating at least two former Texas Instruments employees accused of misappropriating more than $20 million in trade secrets from the firm, a TI spokesman confirmed. TI initiated a search last week by the Dallas County district attorney’s office at Voice Control Systems, a Dallas firm operated by Thomas B. Schalk and managed by Robert Gary Leonard, both former TI employees. Authorities seized computer programs and documents allegedly belonging to TI, the Dallas Times Herald reported. TI filed suit Monday, alleging that VCS, Schalk and Leonard copied and misappropriated highly confidential documents marked “TI Strictly Private,” “TI Internal Data” and “TI Proprietary” while they worked at TI.
