Alfacell denied skirting FDA regulations.
In a letter to the Food and Drug Administration, the Bloomfield, N.J.-based company said it did not try to circumvent FDA regulations in shipping its test substance Pannon (an anti-tumor agent) to the Dominican Republic. Alfacell told the FDA that it will apply for permission to export Pannon for the purpose of scientific investigation.
