Italy’s Trade Deficit Narrows In March

ROME —
Italy’s foreign trade deficit narrowed in March to 2.383 trillion lire, or about $1.2 billion, from a deficit of 3.136 trillion lire in February, the government statistics institute announced.
However, for the first quarter, the trade deficit doubled to 8.229 trillion lire, about $4.2 billion. Italy had a trade deficit of 4.177 trillion lire in the January-March period of last year.
