Japanese Steel Production Down 0.3% From March

TOKYO —
Japan produced 9.132 million metric tons of steel last month, down 0.3% from March but up 3.5% from April, 1984, the Japan Iron and Steel Federation reported.
Of the total crude steel output, production of specialty steel rose 16.4% from a year earlier to a record 1.838 million tons.
