The space shuttle will not land at the Kennedy Space Center’s runway in Florida for the next four or five flights because NASA engineers are concerned about an unsolved brake problem.

Daniel Brandenstein, commander of the shuttle mission scheduled for launch June 17, said Tuesday that engineers felt it was “prudent” to land on the dry lake bed at Edwards Air Force Base in California until the brakes are corrected.
