The New York Port Authority sided with TWA.
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey joined Trans World Airlines in seeking federal review of financier Carl C. Icahn’s qualifications to run TWA. The authority, which operates three major airports in the New York metropolitan area, said it is concerned “that any transfer of the airline’s control or ownership could result in a diminution of activity by that airline” at Kennedy, La Guardia and Newark airports.
