German Storms Kill 3

MUNICH, West Germany —
Electrical storms, cloudbursts, hail and high winds tore across West Germany, killing three people and leaving a trail of destruction Wednesday. Police said the southern states of Bavaria and Baden-Wuerttemberg were hardest hit, but the storms also swept across central Hesse and Lower Saxony. Hundreds of houses, roads and railways were flooded as dams burst and drainage systems collapsed under the deluge.
