Electrical storms, cloudbursts, hail and high winds tore across West Germany, killing three people and leaving a trail of destruction Wednesday. Police said the southern states of Bavaria and Baden-Wuerttemberg were hardest hit, but the storms also swept across central Hesse and Lower Saxony.
