The GM-Toyota joint venture priced its first car.

The Nova, a four-door, front-wheel-drive sedan subcompact, will carry a base price of $7,195 when it is introduced June 13, Chevrolet said. Produced by New United Motor Manufacturing in Fremont, Calif., the Nova will have a base price higher than those for Chevrolet’s other subcompacts: the Cavalier, Chevette, Sprint and Spectrum. The latter two are imported from Japan.
