Counseling Offered: The Family Crisis Center in Costa Mesa has begun a family counseling program--Project Second Step--focusing on teen-age drinking and drug abuse. Licensed counselors will conduct therapy sessions at rates ranging from $10 to $50 per family, based on ability to pay, said center spokeswoman Michele Mosher. Although the program is intended for the whole family, individuals may also use the service, she said. “We don’t turn anyone away, but we discourage that because usually (drug or alcohol abuse) reflects a family problem,” she said. The center, operated by the Newport-Costa Mesa YMCA, is at 420 W. 19th St. For information, call 642-8380.
