Former opera singer and vaudeville performer Phyllis Davies Luce Atkind died in San Francisco on Friday at the age of 95.

A native of England, Mrs. Atkind’s career began in Great Britain, where she sang leading mezzo-soprano roles with the Carl Rosa Opera Company, using the stage name of Phyllis Davis.

After coming to the United States in 1915, she joined the Boston Opera and Milton Aborn Opera Company, then toured the country singing in operatic arias on the Pantages, Orpheum and Keith vaudeville circuits.
