Santa Ana police arrested six suspects, including two juveniles, early Friday following a break-in at a gun shop in the 2100 block of South Main Street in Santa Ana.
Officers were alerted to the 2 a.m. burglary at Stanley’s Gun Room by an employee of an adjacent business, who told police he heard a suspicious noise, said Lt. David Salazar.
Police arrested three suspects who were acting as lookouts outside the building. The officers then watched the other three taking weapons and ammunition before trying to escape through a roof skylight, Salazar said.
The three, who apparently were attempting to leave the way they arrived, were arrested without incident. Police recovered 32 handguns, two shotguns and several hundred rounds of ammunition with a total value of about $10,000, Salazar said.
The adults, Chantha Vannarath, 21, Pornchai Sengthong, 19, Amphorn Siratana, 18, and Ratsamy Trichana, 18, all of Santa Ana, were booked at the Orange County Jail on burglary charges, he said. The two youths, whose names are being withheld, were taken to Juvenile Hall.
