“THE GIRLS OF ROCK ‘N’ ROLL.” Playboy Video. $39.95. Time: 54 min. Don’t look for Madonna or Pat Benatar here. In selecting female singers to star in this collection of nude pop-music videos, singing talent obviously wasn’t a top priority. A pretty face and a shapely figure were seemingly the primary requirements. Undoubtedly there are young women blessed with beauty and terrific figures as well as vocal expertise, but it’s unlikely that they would stoop to singing in the nude in a soft-core porn video.

Despite the nudity, these videos are rather tame. There’s nothing remotely outrageous in any of them. Musically, they’re absolutely wretched. These beauties are awful singers. Still, the expensive, elaborately staged productions do have some visual appeal. Watching this cassette with the sound off is recommended.
