Datapoint Corp. of San Antonio said that John C. Butler, who in May was named chief operating officer, is no longer associated with the computer company and would not be elected to the company’s board of directors. Datapoint declined to elaborate.

August A. Busch III, chairman of the board and president of Anheuser-Busch Cos., has been elected a director of Emerson Electric Co., St. Louis. Emerson also said that Robert L. Cox Jr. has been elected vice president and treasurer of the company.

D. Barry Sibson has been named to the newly created position of vice president-Western group for Turner Construction Co. He will oversee the New York-based company’s California and Colorado operations.

As part of its continuing reorganization, USG Corp. has named presidents for three of its eight operating subsidiaries: Eugene B. Connolly has been elected president and chief operating officer of United States Gypsum Co., A.J. Falvo Jr. has been elected president and chief operating officer of Masonite Corp. and Roy E. Schneider takes the two titles at USG Acoustical Products Co.

Procter & Gamble announced the appointment of four officers to new positions: Albert E. Harris was elected senior vice president, Malcolm Jozoff was elected group vice president and Wolfgang C. Berndt and William O. Coleman both were elected vice presidents. Also, the Cincinnati-based consumer products company said that Kingston Fletcher, a group vice president, will retire Aug. 31.

Microframe, a New Brunswick, N.J.-based computer products company, said it has named David I. Gould president and to the new position of chief operating officer. Gould replaces founder and former President Stephen M. Deixler, who has become chairman and continues as chief executive.

Ronald W. Johnston has been named president and chief operating officer of Whittaker Health Services Inc., the health-care subsidiary of Whittaker Corp., a Los Angeles-based diversified company.

Wyle Laboratories, an El Segundo high-technology services company, has promoted R. Van Ness Holland Jr. to the position of corporate controller.

Frank Okuda has been named executive vice president of Akai America Ltd., a Compton-based electronics products distributor, succeeding Charles Phillips, whose resignation is effective Aug. 31.

California Furniture Shops of Los Angeles has named Dean LaPlante president, succeeding Samuel W. Goldenberg, who resigned.

J. W. Robinson, parent of the Robinson’s department store chain, promoted Robert Lindley to senior vice president and general merchandise manager. Also, Harold Bosworth was named vice president-new business development.

Ann M. Israel was promoted to senior vice president at Purcell Group, Los Angeles, a management consulting and executive search firm.

Stuart W. Evey, former chairman of ESPN and vice president and general manager of Getty Oil’s diversified operations division, has joined Robert Wold Co., Los Angeles, as a consultant.

Lorimar Inc., Culver City, named Michael Meltzer vice president and corporate controller.

Mechanics National Bank, Paramount, named Joseph Helleis senior vice president and loan administrator.

Clem McCarthy has been named president of BBDO/West, a San Francisco advertising agency. McCarthy, formerly vice president of Ogilvy & Mather in San Francisco, replaces Joseph Barrett, who last month returned to BBDO International, the company’s New York-based parent, as a senior management representative.

Kasler Corp., San Bernardino, named E. Robert Ferguson executive vice president and George R. Pache vice president-treasurer and chief financial officer. Pache replaces Glen E. Lohmuller, who retired.

Ferruccio Rocconi, formerly of Sitmar Cruises, has been appointed senior vice president-operations of San Francisco-based American Hawaii Cruises.

Warren K. Vest was appointed executive vice president of World Airways Inc., Oakland.

Robert Bauman, former chairman and chief executive of Avco Corp., was elected a director of McKesson Corp., San Francisco.
