Santa Monica
Sybil Marvin has pleaded not guilty to charges that she shot and killed her 70-year-old husband during an argument at their apartment. The 61-year-old Marvin, who was arraigned in Santa Monica Municipal Court, will be represented by a court-appointed attorney.
Marvin is charged with murdering her husband Donald by shooting him several times at close range with a .25-caliber automatic pistol. Police have discounted Marvin’s story that her husband asked to be killed after learning that she was suffering from terminal cancer, saying he could not face life without her. A preliminary hearing on the case will be held June 20.
