All was quiet at the Federal Building in Westwood after the arrest of 69 people who protested U.S. support for the Nicaraguan contras by forming a human chain and allegedly trying to block entrances. A Federal Protective Service spokesman said those arrested were cited for creating a disturbance and released. About 50 others demonstrated at the Covina office of Rep. David Dreier (R-La Verne). Seven people were arrested when they staged a sit-in at the Long Beach office of Rep. Dan Lungren (R-Long Beach). In San Francisco, 72 people were arrested outside the federal building. More than 60 protesters were arrested near the federal courthouse in Sacramento. The demonstrations took place Wednesday.
