Why is it that Phil Collins’ repetition of a phrase is worthy of attack and ridicule when Springsteen does the same thing and gets off with praise?
Ever heard “I’m Goin’ Down”? It’s a snappy little tune on “Born in the U.S.A.” Bruce repeats the word down more than 80 times. That is more than 26, isn’t it? That other pet group of Bob’s, U2, repeats the phrase “Sunday Bloody Sunday” more than 20 times. You can’t have your cake and eat it too, Mr. Hilburn.
