Once again the Memorial Day weekend has passed and once again the Calendar editor in charge of such things has chosen to ignore the Sacramento Dixieland Jubilee.

The Sacramento Jubilee includes more than 100 bands from all over the world and draws an audience of over a quarter of a million people--far outpulling Newport, Monterey, the Kool or even, for Pete’s sake, the Mariachi festival in Texas, all of which have been covered by Calendar.

Why wasn’t the Dixieland Jubilee covered? By what criteria do you decide that festivals in New York City or New England are more worthy of coverage?
