Fifty Iranians living in exile in the western United States have formed an organization to gather U.S. support for an overthrow of the Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, according to Tom Arostamian. The Constitutional Council concluded a week of meetings Saturday at the Miramar Sheraton in Santa Monica. Arostamian, a member of the council, said the 50 representatives will meet in Paris in August with a similar group that has been organized in Europe. The associations will work to inform the public of the “dangers” of the Khomeini regime and to persuade western governments to support a takeover by Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi, the son of the late shah of Iran.
