Datapoint sued its former chief operating officer.

Share

The company filed a suit in federal court in Philadelphia seeking an injunction to bar John Butler from divulging confidential information about the corporation. Butler was hired May 15 as Datapoint’s chief operating officer and was fired June 7. No official reason was given for the action at the time. The suit claims that, since January, Butler has been working with Sam Wyly of NetAmerica Corp., who had been seeking to gain control of Datapoint. The petition also claims that Butler divulged confidential information to Wyly while he was at Datapoint. The suit seeks unspecified damages. Butler could not be reached for comment.
