Spies’ Trials to Be in 3 Cities

WASHINGTON — The Justice Department said today that the espionage trials of the four men charged in the alleged Walker family Soviet spy ring will be held in three cities: Baltimore, Norfolk and San Francisco.
John Russell, a department spokesman, said the government has decided that the ring did not involve a conspiracy among the four men and that three of the men were unaware of others’ agreement to supply classified information to the Soviets through John Walker, the accused spy chief.
