$37.5-Million Contract: The Board of Supervisors has awarded a $37.5-million contract to Martin Marietta Corp. to manage the county’s data processing facilities. The contract also provides for an option year that would bring the total award to about $44 million. Under the five-year contract, Maryland-based Martin Marietta Data Systems will assume responsibility for the management, operations, communications, systems development and maintenance of the county’s data center, which processes tax assessments, payroll, health and welfare benefits and a variety of other information for Orange County’s 2 million residents.
