LONDON —
The price of a taxi ride in London will increase an average of 8.2% next month, the government announced.
Fares for the city’s popular black taxis will go up July 14, at the height of the tourist season. The hike comes one year after the last increase.
The increase is higher than the current 7% rate of inflation, but less than the 12% sought by the London Taxi Drivers’ Assn.
