The FCC told AT&T; to end a computer service.

AT&T; Communications was ordered by the FCC to withdraw its Accunet computer data packet service because of discriminatory rate practices. Ruling that the money-losing computer data-transmission service was being subsidized by other AT&T; customers instead of the company’s stockholders, the FCC gave the company 120 days to get out of the business or propose new rates. The commission found that Accunet was primarily used by AT&T; Information Services, which received a rate break not available to Accunet’s competitors.
