Mission Viejo National Bank named Dale Kirkpatrick president and chief executive. Kirkpatrick is the retired president of Napa Valley Bank. He replaces Lloyd Miller, who resigned last week after 18 months on the job. Gary Findley, an attorney representing the bank, said Monday that the move was part of the 4-year-old institution’s plan to cut expenses. Mission Viejo National Bank, with $32 million in assets and $29 million in deposits, will be looking to reduce its asset size by $7 million and become less dependent on high-interest-paying certificates of deposit.

Misao (Lyndon) Yurikusa has been appointed senior vice president of Kawasaki Motors Corp. U.S.A., the Santa Ana distributor of Kawasaki motorcycles. Yurikusa’s duties in the newly created position will include assisting President Masamoto Tazaki with research and development and product planning. Yurikusa, 50, was senior manager of product planning for Kawasaki Industries’ Motorcycle Group in Akashi, Japan.

Michael Mergen has been named controller at Kerr & Associates Inc., a Huntington Beach public relations and advertising firm. Mergen, 27, was an accountant for another advertising firm, Roggers, French & Co. in Irvine.

Richard Diaz has been named executive vice president and Daniel Joseph Elefante has been named corporate vice president and broker/director at Sandpiper Financial, a Costa Mesa mortgage company. Diaz, 30, was a loan officer at the Trust Deed Corp. in Tustin, while Elefante, 37, was in sales at Century 21 Advance Realtors in Irvine.

Tod Hammeras has been promoted to controller of Sandberg Industries Inc. Hammeras, 28, was accounting manager of the Irvine electronics company.

J. Bradley Fearn, chairman and chief executive of Penn Pacific Corp., a small Tustin oil and gas holding company, has submitted his resignation from both posts and from the board of directors, citing the pressure of other business responsibilities. A successor will be named at a board meeting scheduled for the coming week.

Barbara A. MacAdam, a 19-year veteran of the Bank of America, has been named vice president and manager of the bank’s San Juan Capistrano branch. MacAdam replaces Rita Casteel, who moved to Dana Niguel Bank.

Marine National Bank has promoted Karel Garrison to vice president and cashier. Garrison, with 11 years of banking experience, joined Marine National when it opened in 1981.

Dennis Sarni and Steve Frappier have been named vice presidents at English & Associates Inc. of Mission Viejo. Both had been with the Litigation Support Corp., a settlement brokerage firm in San Francisco. English is a settlement annuity consulting firm, specializing in arranging long-term payment plans in personal-injury cases.

Marti Babbitt has been named vice president of

loan services at Western Empire Savings & Loan Assn. Prior to joining the Irvine S&L;, Babbitt was a loan service manager for Far West Savings & Loan Assn. in Anaheim.
