Work has begun on the 16-acre site of a $2.5-million, 46,000-square-foot dormitory and recreation center to be built for the Salvation Army at 909 Salvation Place, Anaheim.

Believed to be “the largest facility of its kind on the West Coast” for the Salvation Army, the two-story, 150-bed Adult Rehabilitation Center Residence, which will also include a bowling alley and outside swimming pool, is expected to be completed in January. Berney Construction of Irvine is the general contractor.
