I have been taking The Times for over 50 years and enjoying the Travel Section since its beginning. I have never read such a snobbish article as the one written by Michael Carlton. Does Carlton want to see the country and people, or is he only thinking of his own comfort. To see only the places he visited was to do an injustice to China. He would be better off taking his cruise to the Caribbean.
