‘Something Else’

William Bradford Reynolds, assistant attorney general in charge of civil rights, is indeed “Something Else,” as you stated in your editorial (June 10). The Senate would be making a strong policy statement if it confirms a person who is opposed to the laws that protect our civil rights for a position in the department that is responsible for enforcing these laws.

What amazes me is that Reynolds has held the position in charge of protecting civil rights for some time under the current Administration. Is not President Reagan also making a strong policy statement against civil rights with his continued support of Reynolds?
