Knoxville Residents Flee Spill

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. —
A railway tanker car filled with 27,000 gallons of volatile liquid propane overturned today, prompting the evacuation of most of downtown Knoxville. It looked like rush hour at midday as workers poured out of the buildings and hustled to their cars. Officials did not have an estimate of the total number evacuated and advised that the move was only a precaution.
