Two bank robbers escaped with an undetermined amount of money after accosting two Security Pacific National Bank employees who were stocking the bank’s automatic teller machine at 333 University Ave. Monday morning, authorities said.

While two employees attempted to stock the machine with $10 and $20 bills, a middle-aged man stood by, apparently waiting to use it.

According to an FBI report, the employees asked the man to use another machine just around the corner.

But the man followed the two employees into the bank, and tied up the two men with electrical tape, the report said. Then a second man entered the building and held the employees at gunpoint while the first filled a satchel with currency, the report said.

San Diego police and FBI officials say they have no leads in the robbery.
