Logicon Inc., Torrance, received a 10-month contract valued at about $4.6 million from the Navy-Air Force Joint Cruise Missile Project Office for continued support work on the sea-launched cruise missile system. Work on the contract will be done at Logicon plants in San Pedro and Dahlgren, Va.

Federal-Mogul Corp., Southfield, Mich., signed a letter of intent to acquire Felker Operations, a Torrance-based unit of Dresser Industries Inc. that manufactures specialty saws and diamond products. The size of the purchase agreement was not disclosed.

Whittaker Corp., a Los Angeles-based diversified health care and specialty chemicals company, said it completed its acquisition of the remaining 22% of Yardney Corp. stock that it didn’t already own for about $6 million. Yardney, also based in Los Angeles, makes high-energy-density batteries and water-filtration systems.

Los Angeles-based Maxicare Health Plans Inc. said its Maxicare Louisiana Inc. subsidiary will expand into the Lafayette, La., service area through Hamilton Medical Groups. Separately, Maxicare said its Maxicare Arkansas Inc. subsidiary received approval in that state to operate a health maintenance organization.

Hanson, Winter & Orloff Insurance Brokers Inc. of Los Angeles has been acquired by Crump Cos., a major insurance brokerage firm with headquarters in Memphis, Tenn.

National Medical Enterprises Inc., Los Angeles, signed an agreement with the University of Utah to develop a $10-million adult and adolescent psychiatric hopsital at the university’s Research Park in Salt Lake City.

Litton Industries Inc., Beverly Hills, tentatively agreed to sell its Bionetics Medical Laboratories unit to Metpath Inc., a unit of Corning Glass Works. Terms weren’t disclosed.

Cardinal Entertainment Corp., Brentwood, said it agreed in principle to acquire Trans World Productions Inc., a Hollywood-based film producer and video producer for 3.7 million Cardinal shares.

Parkson Pipeline Materials, Santa Fe Springs, a unit of CertainTeed Corp, said it purchased Central Water Works Supply Inc., Bakersfield. for undisclosed terms. Parkson distributes products to the waterworks, sewer and fire-protection markets.

D.M. Braun & Co., Santa Fe Springs, acquired the yard goods division of Landscape Structures Inc. in Delano, Minn., for undisclosed terms. Manufacturing operations have been moved to Santa Fe Springs, the company said.
