Joan Kroc Praised

Let me add my voice to the chorus praising Joan Kroc. Forget that she owns the Padres, McDonald’s, etc. As a member of the usually ignored middle class, I enthusiastically applaud her work against the threat of nuclear war and her generosity in giving to worthwhile causes.

Most of us don’t have the money to run full-page ads seeking to derail this Administration’s full-speed race toward the end of civilization as we know it, and it’s fantastic when someone with her stature takes a stand which certainly may be unpopular among people at or near her economic level. No one will win in a nuclear war! Wealthy people will be killed, too. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being wealthy, if you recognize that you have additional responsibilities to those less fortunate. Joan Kroc does, and may the best come full circle to her.
