Several senior Guinean government officials, including former ministers, have been arrested in connection with Thursday’s attempted coup in the West African nation. However, Col. Diarra Traore, leader of the plot, is still at large, the government said. Fifteen people were killed and about 100 injured in the coup bid, Planning Minister Jean Traore said. He put the number of people involved in the plot under 100. President Lansana Conte, in a radio broadcast, said his ruling military council is in control.
