Deukmejian OKs Clerical Error
It is reprehensible that Deukmejian has refused to drop anti-abortion restrictions from the 1985-86 budget when it was the clear intent of our lawmakers that the discriminatory provision be removed. Our governor should have been honest and ethical enough to abide by the vote of the legislative budget writers since he knew a legislative clerical error had been made. Instead he has set himself above our elected lawmakers to decide what the law should say.
