A Norwalk man was shot twice by sheriff’s deputies after he allegedly threatened them with a knife, Joe Garza of the Sheriff’s Department information bureau said. Henry Patrick Donavan, 21, was shot in the hand and chest by Deputies Ronald Spear, 29, and Brian Flynn, 28, who chased Donavan after he allegedly tried to rob a man at knifepoint near the intersection of 187th Street and Pioneer Boulevard in Artesia. Donavan was treated at Long Beach Memorial Hospital and later booked for attempted robbery and assault with a deadly weapon. The deputies fired two shots at Donavan after he made “jabbing motions” at them, Garza said.
