An injured Tujunga woman who was trapped without food or water for three days after she fell 100 feet down a steep canyon off Big Tujunga Canyon Road in the Angeles National Forest was rescued after sheriff’s deputies heard her cries for help. Linda Gillum, 38, who told authorities she slipped while hiking Monday afternoon, was pulled to safety by the Montrose search and rescue team, a sheriff’s spokesman said. Suffering from dehydration and multiple abrasions, she was taken to County-USC Medical Center, where she was in fair condition. Gillum apparently was too weak from her injuries and the effects of 100-degree heat to climb up the rocky canyon back onto the road, deputies said. Deputies on a routine patrol in the mountains above La Canada Flintridge had stopped to check Gillum’s abandoned car when they heard her screams and called the rescue team, authorities said.
