MGM/UA Leases Whole Floor of Filmland Center
MGM/UA Entertainment Co. has signed a lease whose options could extend its term to 20 years for a potential rental of $50 million for the 50,000-square-foot third floor of the Filmland Corporate Center in Culver City.
The space will be headquarters of MGM/UA’s motion picture marketing and distribution divisions. The lease takes effect March 1, 1986, and construction of tenant facilities is expected to begin in October, 1985.
When completed the center will be an $81-million entertainment industry complex with 820,000 square feet of offices, parking, terraces and service facilities occupying the entire block just east of MGM/UA’s studio headquarters.
