Born in Burma
I enjoyed the article on Burma by Margaret Richardson (June 23). Your readers may be interested in knowing that if a person was born in Burma and then left the country and became a citizen of another country, the person can never enter Burma again.
My wife was born in Burma and is now a U.S. citizen. She wants to visit Burma to show me the sights and where she grew up. However, despite numerous attempts we have been unable to obtain a visa for her.
Your readers might also be interested to know that there is only one Burmese restaurant in California, in San Francisco.
