Under the agreement, Hospital Corp. of America will divest three hospitals that it acquired from Forum Group. HCA acquired most of Forum’s hospitals in 1984 for about $195 million. The Federal Trade Commission complaint, issued with the settlement, alleges that the acquisition will reduce competition in two geographic areas. Under the agreement, HCA will divest two psychiatric hospitals in Virginia and a general hospital in Texas.
