Retired Air Force Gen. Richard L. Collins was acquitted in federal court in West Palm Beach, Fla., of stealing $450,000 from a super-secret government fund that financed covert CIA missions in Southeast Asia. A nine-woman, three-man jury deliberated two hours before finding the highly decorated former fighter pilot innocent of all six charges against him. The government contended Collins had abused the public trust by diverting the $450,000 from the fund’s Swiss bank account.
