The Newport Harbor Art Museum has received grants of $40,000 from the National Endowment for the Arts and $15,000 from the City of Newport Beach.
The underwriting from the federal arts-support agency includes $30,000 for restoring, cataloging, storing and other projects for the Newport Beach-based museum’s permanent collection.
An additional $10,000 is to be used for the commissioning of works for the museum’s Contemporary Culture Series. The artists involved are Charles Armirkhanian, Carol Law, Ingram Marshall and Jim Bengston.
The city’s $15,000 grant, the first made by the city to the museum, is to be used for overall program expansions.
