American Motors is likely to incur a loss of $80 million to $90 million this year and will remain in the red for another year after that, Georges Besse said in Paris. Besse, the head of Renault, which itself is financially ailing, confirmed for reporters that AMC will receive a two-year loan of $175 million from Renault to help get the company through 1986. The French government-controlled Regie Nationale des Usines Renault owns 46% of AMC’s stock.
